Naked? Yes indeed.

Ahh it has been awhile...Sorry! I have been busy working and I haven't been able to blog as much as I'd like to.

But on a lighter note, the other week my dad was on his way to Sephora to buy cologne and he said "The other day you said you went there for something that was sold out, what was it?" I told him "Its a makeup palette" My dad then responds in his latin accent "What is it called?" and my response was "Naked" then my dad boasts "What?! Make it??".... "NO dad NAKED!!!" ..."NAKED??!!?!" ..."Yes Dad it is called NAKED!!"

Mind you this whole conversation is happening in front of tons of people who are probably thinking WTF!?

He ends up bringing me a bag with my lovely Naked Palette! One of the girls from Sephora told me how he was in there looking for it and how cute it was haha. I laughed because all I can picture is this big guy coming into the store saying to one of the employees "Yo Sweetheart I am looking for something Naked." haha I love my dad!

I am a huge fan of neutrals so I adore this palette but I wish there were a few more matte options. Because sometimes I like something less shimmery during the day. But still love it!

Avocado Bliss

I LOVE Avocados and cannot get enough of them. They are great on sandwiches and burgers and I love them on grilled shrimp tacos! With Cinco de Mayo being tomorrow I felt like I should make some yummy Guacamole while it was my day off. Tomorrow I would most likely be too tired to make it.

Anyways I used to go to this Mexican restaurant that would make the Guacamole for you right at the table!

What you need:

2 Hass Avocados (Ripe of course)
1 Red Onion (About 2 TBSP of minced red onion)
1 Plum Tomato (Not too soft)
1 Small clove of garlic
Small lime ( I only used half of it)
Sea salt or Kosher salt if you have it. Otherwise regular salt is fine.
Cayenne pepper
Cumin
Fresh Cilantro

Cut your tomato, red onion, avocado in tiny little cubes. I call this micro dicing lol. Throw it all into a bowl.

Then roll your lime on a counter before cutting it to get it easy to squeeze. I used half of a small lime

Then I cut some fresh cilantro and threw it into the mix. I am aware that Cilantro is a Love or Hate thing. You either love Cilantro or you can NOT stand it. I LOVE IT. The more the merrier lol
Then I mixed everything together and seasoned it with sea salt and a small pinch of Cayenne Pepper for heat and Cumin for smokiness. It really works well with the lime. But if you don't have Cumin or dislike the taste, Paprika is a great option!

Mix it all up and adjust to taste and pair it with your favorite chips! I had it with Multigrain chips because they are bit better for me! Yummy!
If Only you could see how green it really was though. The lighting was terrible! But it was delicious!!

A Porker Who Loves Pork.

I am currently on a diet. Not a strict one, but I am trying to be careful with what I am consuming. But one thing I love is Bacon and pork. Therefore I could not be Muslim because pork and I have a very close relationship. I mean the smell of bacon alone makes me happy. I sound like a porker lol Pun Intended. So while I am trying to avoid temptation I have come across so many yummy bacon enhanced foods! Here are two that are made with bacon that just look soo bad for me but soo good for me at the same time hahah

This looks sooo delicious! Made with Fuji Apples and Bacon! Find the recipe here!

And here are Maple Bacon Donuts!! Ugh this is such a bad idea. Why do I torment myself by looking at things I cannot and should not be eating!? Nonetheless these do look yummy:

Ombre Hair...

In the past I had dyed my hair black and had pink in the front. Which I liked but after awhile I covered the pink up and my hair was all black. Unfortunately I did not realize that black would be such a pain in the ass to change later. My natural hair color is a warm brown with natural red and blonde highlights. Its actually quite strange. But nonetheless I am left wanting to change my hair color but stylists have told me that lightening my hair will pose a bit of an issue unless I strip the black from my hair first. I just didn't want to because the damage done would further dry out my hair.

So I decided to let it grow out and now I realized how much lighter my natural hair color was in reality. In comparison with the black it was extremely light. Fortunately the ends have faded to a dark dark brown. I wanted to do a few highlights in my hair but have recently decided that I may just want to do the Ombre look to my hair instead.

So as you can see I already have an Ombre look going but its an Opposite Ombre! lol But I am highly considering lightening it and achieving a look these:
So Yay or Nay?

Military Loving.

I love military influenced fashion. I am a huge lover of the color palettes used in military inspired clothing. The khakis, olive greens, and tans. All neutrals which can be worn by redheads, blondes, and brunettes.

I for one have been wearing my Steve Madden "Troopa" boots a lot lately. Not so much that they should be as worn as they are. I bought them in the off white color. I loved that they weren't the typical black or brown boot. My only issue was that the sole of the shoes literally is destroyed! My right boot has a hole/crack in the bottom of the shoe. Which devastated me! I don't want to have to buy another pair but I think I am left without any other option!

These are shots of one of my vintage uniform shirts that I purchased. I love the patches and they just look so cute with my military boots. I have 3 of them as well as a military coat.

I thought this last picture was cool because it looks like Cousin IT with the sunglasses on top of my head. LoL

Denim Denim Denim

So lately I have talked to a few girls who have had unique nail designs. I asked how they got their nails to look that way and they told me I had to check out Sally Hansen Salon Effects. So I went on a hunt for them. A few pharmacy's were sold out but I finally got lucky at Rite Aid!

They had all different patterns to choose from but most were sold out. So I settled on Denim and Fishnet. The Denim I tried on last night and they are so cool! The application process is actually quite simple and not messy at all. I have to say I was quite happy with the results!

The only down side is the price. They were $10 each which is more than some bottles of nail polish! But Oh well I received a $5 off coupon for my next Sally Hansen purchase which will motivate me to buy another set.

Here are the pictures:
