Cozy Interiors

I love seeing what people do with their spaces. I really enjoy seeing people utilize rich colors and I love when people can mix modern with antique/vintage.

I really love this room and how it seems masculine but not overly-so. It seems to really have character which is important for a space. Some rooms may contain a lot of accessories but they are disjointed and really give no substance to the room, they just provide the room with space filling clutter.

I love the mix of textures with the pillows. I also really enjoy the use of typography in a room, whether it be prints, fabrics, or cutouts. The natural wood and the mix of metals looks great without competing. Overall the olive hued and gold tones of this room are really inviting.

Another thing I love is wallpaper. Yes. I said it. Wallpaper. In moderation and only in some spaces. But wallpaper can really transform a space as well as add visual interest to a room. You don't always need to clutter a wall with artwork or photos, but you can just have a wall that has been wallpapered and it is a focal point in itself. I personally like when people use wallpaper in a hallway. For example:

Stripes are also something that can be very trendy and modern yet they can go awfully wrong. Sometimes they make a room to busy and tacky. But this dining room seems to have executed striped walls well. The stripes are broad and in a muted gray. The room is large so I think it works.

Now what is your take on rooms with Black walls? I personally think it can work with the right room and decor. This room is black and masculine yet very appealing with all the unique artwork.
It really has an eclectic feel and I love the desk and the overhead light fixture. I feel that it was a very bold move because this tiny studio is only 350 Square feet! Gotta love NYC !!
I actually like this space a lot. But what do you think? Too dark? Would you paint a room black? Let me know!
