Vintage Love Letters

I love all things Vintage. But I have always been especially fond of vintage envelopes. I love the red and blue markings on the airmail envelopes. I wish that men wrote letters instead of emails. I always wanted to have a collection of love letters in a safe keeping box. Ahh I am indeed a dreamer!

Anyways, I came across a few things inspired by vintage mail...

This stamp is cute for the scrapbooker or the girl who wants to replicate vintage mail:

Then I came across these already made envelopes that you can use to write someone special a letter.

How cute are they?! You can get them HERE.

And my ultimate FAVORITE is this adorable case to carry your laptop around in. I absolutely adore it!! See Below.

A shoulder to lean on...

So I went to Foxwoods MGM Grand last night and I was not a Lucky Winner. I don't like gambling much anyways, especially in this economy. I'm usually the girl who takes her money and goes to the Coach store and buys a purse while people playing for money. I however would rather feel like if I'm going to spend money, Id much rather have something to show for and take home besides an empty wallet.

Anyways so recently I was rummaging through some of my moms stuff from the 70's and 80's and found some great finds, in terms of jewelry and accessories. So amongst all the treasure I found this pin (which I will post a pic of later) that is full of rhinestone fringe like tassels/chains. Anywho the way the pin was fastened to the back made it impossible to wear horizontally without it looking Ridiculous and contorted. So I asked my mom, What the hell is this? And apparently its a broche/pin that you fasten to your shoulder of your shirt or blazer and it had the rhinestone chains hanging down the front and back of your shirt. Very Cute! Great find with the trends of emphasized shoulders.

Some cute dresses I came across are these two:

apartment #34: Wedding Wednesday {Real Wedding}

apartment #34: Wedding Wednesday {Real Wedding}

Inspiration for my Previous Post!

Oh My! Omelle!

I Love coming across new blogs to browse in my free time, and I came across Apartment #34 and fell in love with shoes from one of her entries! Check it out. But anyways back to what caught my eye and made my wallet cry were these BEAUTIFUL awe inspiring shoes!

Taken from Kissthegroom.com

So I had to see what other beautiful shoes Omelle had to offer! And I was NOT disappointed to say the least!

Look at those adorable ankle booties, with that heel. These booties with the oversized button are just lovely. They come in a blue-ish gray color as well. They are just $473! Haha.

^Danika^

I love these damn shoes!! I need to win the damn lottery! I think the ribbon and the ability to change out the ribbon adds to the charm of these wonderful shoes. Unfortunately they are sold out. What do you think??

Vivid Couture...

Just Browsing around and came across a designer Carmelita Couture and must say that I have fallen in love with a few of her unconventional pieces. They are vivid and vibrant. Not to be worn everyday but definitely fun nonetheless.

$365

$212

$275
I love these dresses! I especially love the second. The ruffles and the graphic print is very eye-catching. However I am not sure that it would be flattering to my body type, not with the extra weight I have gained this past year! This year is in need of some shedding of unneeded body bulk lol. I might try one of those pole dancing classes. LoL They seem fun, and I am not one who is entertained by repetition and treadmills. So maybe an interactive class like that might keep me engaged.

There is a place close enough to home that I thought I might try out, I saw it on tv and figured "Hey Why Not?" Has anyone tried this? Likes, Dislikes? Do Tell!

In with the New and Out with the Old!

I guess I will start with the fact that this year has to be different. I need to get focused and continue moving towards all my goals so that I can accomplish what I want and need. I didn't think I'd talk about anything personal on here but lately I have realized that a relationship I had been in, was a waste of time. You know how sometimes you have those relationships that were pointless or just a big question mark? well I had one of those and have come to realize that this one is worse in the sense I am walking away with nothing but a headache and resentment. I detest liars and for some reason I kept forgiving? He didn't cheat but whats the difference really? Lying and Cheating are both forms of dishonesty! SOO this year is going to be filled with positive vibes only. I was talking with my friend today and she made an excellent point! A successful motivated and confident woman will attract that in a man. So here's to a new year!

I think that as soon as I get some extra money after my bills are paid, I am going to participate in some charities starting with this one:

We take running clean water for granted. Its amazing how much we have and yet sometimes we want more and yet we still have so much more than others who are less fortunate. I plan to change this year and just do what I can to make some small change for others. If there are any other charities that you are a part of let me know! I am looking to donate what I can whether that be money or time or other necessities. Heres to a Great New Year

RUGged!

I am a huge fan of Crate and Barrel and their CB2. I was browsing through my catalog tonight and fell in love with some of their area rugs among many other great things they have to offer of course. But anyways, two of the area rugs I most adore are one that imitates a childhood hopscotch sidewalk drawing and another that says the well known "Keep Calm and Carry On". I absolutely love them and want both.

I love this "Keep Calm and Carry On" rug especially because I am so fond of the hand screen printed posters done by SFgirlbybay. I have been a fan of them for some time now. And can you believe I have yet to purchase one yet? I think that is also in part due to my indecisiveness. I can't decide on a color! I think my favorite would have to be the Seafoam Aqua. But you should definitely check out her Etsy store as she has other prints and photos to offer. Be sure to check out her blog as well. I am a fan!

Sneaky Sneaky....

So I love browsing around on Elle.com looking at the Street Chic pages, and admiring peoples personal styles. And while browsing around Elle.com I came across these sneaker pumps by DSquared for $766! I mean I almost wish they were shown on someone, because I can't envision what outfit they could work with. And for me that's difficult because I'm usually not stumped by shoes. But let me know what you think of them:

So what do you think of them? Cute, Ugly, Or Just Confused? Let me know!

Neon Roar!

Ahhh Animal Print! It can either be absolutely adorable or dreadfully TACKY! But Blumarine captured my heart! A few weeks ago I came across the dress that Fergie wore to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show After Party! The Blumarine dress from the Fall 2009 collection is a colorful leopard print dress that begs to be worn! And im begging to afford it!

The dress paired with the little black jacket that Fergie is wearing is trendy perfection. I have an adorable pair of BCBG shoes Id love to pair with that dress! Blumarine's collection also included other items I adored such as this dress:

If only I had more in my life savings! I guess I can always sell a kidney? We only need one right? Ahhh Clothing is indeed my weakness. But I think I may have found a solution to my issue. After showing my dad the dress I wanted he laughed and said why not find a white leopard dress and dye it to your liking, and it will be done by you with colors you select? Wow parents are good to have around sometimes. So although no dress would be the Blumarine dress and its not fair to make an exact replica I do hope to find a white leopard dress to capture the feel of Fergie's look. So on that note, if you know of somewhere I can find a white leopard dress, Please DO TELL!

Ill be sure to keep everyone updated on search for a white leopard dress and my possible spins on it!

To Bronze or not to Bronze...

I am personally a huge fan of bronzing powder. I use it all year round, and just use it lightly in the winter.  I tend to be very particular about my bronzing powder because some are pressed powders and some are loose powders and some feel very chalky and some feel dusty. My biggest peeves are when bronzing powders are too iridescent and metallic. Those shimmery bronzing powders shouldn't be used all-over in my oppinion. I think you can use the shimmery bronzing powders as a highlighter but all over tends to make people look shiny and sometimes greasy depending on their skin type.  Then there are the bronzing powders that make people's faces look dirty?! Do you know what I am talking about? The ones that leave a grayish look to them? Therefore I am very particular about the bronzing powders I use. I have a few favorites but my current favorite is:

I absolutely adore this bronzing powder by Philosophy. It is by far the best bronzer. I love that there is no need for a brush and that the powder is unable to spill in my make up bag. I also love that the powder doesn't get everywhere like when being applied with a brush that needs excess powder shaken off. It has a mirror on the top of the cover that doesn't get all dirty with the powder like compacts with the mirror on the inside. It goes on evenly and works well with an olive complexion like my own and was versatile enough to work on my friend with very fair skin. Definitely a great addition to your makeup artillery.

I think I might have to try their Moonlight Illuminating Powder next. Has anyone used it? And what do you think about it?

Bedroom Redo

So its been a few days since my last post. With the New Years celebrations and such, its been hard to write. I had a lot of running around to do. However, I will be going to New York next week to visit my dad, and to decorate his apartment, beginning with his bedroom. So I have been looking up very sleek and modern rooms with clean lines. I found a few inspirations for his room that will work with the limited space he has.
I then found another room that I liked that emphasized a dark rich colored backdrop for the bed instead of the bold crisp white seen in the pic above.
read more here.
Both rooms are simple and offer a rich quality to them and I enjoy that both used orange accent pillows and round bolster pillows. I like the natural elements of the branches and the rectangular cutouts in each backdrop/wall. It adds ambiance. I in fact have been on a hunt for white birch branches. I have been looking in local woods to see if I can find some fallen branches. I love White birch against dark backgrounds. I want to get a few branches and mount them on the walls in the corners and have them coming out with things hanging from them. Maybe something that can catch the light to add a bit of a whimsical element to the room. Nothing too feminine of course even though my dad is a guy whose favorite color is Purple lol.
