Cute Change Purses

Every now and again I come across great little gift ideas for my friends. Sometimes I wish there were more holidays in the year for more excuses to buy people presents!

I came across these little Rebecca Minkoff change purses that I absolutely adore and figured Id share them:

These adorable purses cost $55 and can be found on the Bloomingdales website

Christmas Gift Makeover

So I'm sure we all have received an article of clothing or a fashion accessory that well, is lacking the "fashion" part but sometimes it just needs a little creative attention.

I received a purse from someone over the age of 60 and it was a faux leather bag that I actually wasn't to displeased to open because I saw its potential. My dad's girlfriend on the other hand was embarrassed by her mothers gift lol.

I knew I had plenty of trim from my sunglass making days so I decided to bust out my bag of tricks and I got to work!

Pyramid studs, check. Pliers, check. Chain, check. Purse in need of a makeover, CHECK!

I sadly didn't take a pic of it before but you can imagine by the picture of it after the studding process began.

There is also a picture of a final product which I am quite pleased with. I took a bag that looked appropriate for a 60 year old to a funky bag that's a bit edgy and age appropriate for me.

On a Weight Loss Journey

Over the years I have put weight on, lost some, put some back on and so on and so forth. Now I am trying to lose and get to a place that is healthy and that makes me happy and comfortable. I am not looking to be a size 2 or anything unrealistic. In fact size really doesn't matter as long as I am toned and fit.

Maybe I will post my progress as I go on. Right now I am focusing on eating healthy as well as working out. I love the workout program I am doing. It is called TurboFire and I thought it was going to be dreadful but its not! Don't get me wrong there are days i'm swearing at the television and calling the instructor a "Crazy Bitch" but I feel completely accomplished at the end of it. So from time to time I'll post some inspirational photos and mantras to keep me going.

I guess you could call this a New Years Resolution but id like to think of it as my New Life Resolution.

DIY I wanna try...

Tonight I was getting crafty and making some jewelry and such and then I decided to see if I could find any inspiration online for doing something to some old Chuck Taylors of mine and I came across this tutorial! It is awesome and I have a black fur vest that I want to pair with these sneaks. Love it. I have the fur but I just need the Black converse. Lucky for me my friends work there and give me discounts on the sneakers. So I will be buying them and making these bad boys this weekend. Here is what they look like and there is a link to the tutorial for those interested in giving this a shot!

Logo Love

So I have been working on getting my new company off the ground. I have been fortunate enough to have been given a foundation to build my new business on. My dad is an owner of food trucks in Manhattan and I am now starting my own. I couldn't be more excited. However it has been a tedious journey and it isn't even over yet. There is still so much to be done because funding exceeded my initial estimates.

I am going to be running a dessert food truck that is a bit different than the ordinary cupcake truck on the market. I wanted to offer cupcakes but I didn't want to limit myself solely to them. I also want to steer away from the conventional cupcake flavors because I am not a conventional girl and this is not a conventional dessert truck. Its easier to come up with a "cute and frilly" concept. It is far too common and predictable. Neither of which I wanted my company to be. I want to offer desserts with flavor profiles influenced from all different cuisines. I also want to help support locally grown produce.

My vision for this truck is "edgy". I want a truck that stands out because it is unlike others. I want it to be influenced visually by all things that I appreciate. Be it music, fashion, art, or anything else inspiring. I wanted my logo to be edgy and fun. I am extremely happy with it and figured I would share it with you.

Tanning Towelettes...

Okay so there are always opinions out there on tanning and whether or not you should do it or not. I don't mind tanning here in there in absolute moderation. But I do understand the dangers of it as well as its aging properties. So I have opted for some sunless tanners in the absence of sunlight and indoor tanning.

Now I tried a product called Tan Towels. I was a bit apprehensive at first for fear of streaking or uneven distribution. BUT I was pleasantly surprised by the results. They are individually wrapped towelettes that feel like a baby wipe but a bit thinner. Kind of like a wet towelette you receive at a restaurant. They don't smell bad and they apply evenly and I have had NO issues with streaking or orange coloring. After one use I looked tan and people actually asked me if I went to the tanning salon!

They are a bit pricey but worth it!

Christmas came and a friend of mine knew I swore by these tan towels but because they couldn't find them they purchased the Loreal brand for me to try in hopes that they would work just as well and for a cheaper price!

Now I was thrilled because the towelettes by Loreal were softer like a baby wipe, thicker and larger for more coverage. Now unfortunately they left me streak and splotchy even after exfoliation! I woke up today with white spots and smudges after using a second towelette to even out the first application. It was terrible! Looks as if I have ringworm on my arms and legs!! I am soo disappointed because it not only smudges easily but it gives a dirty appearance. Not happy with this product but I hate to waste so I am hoping I can apply my previous ones after to even it out. We shall see.

I am not going to recommend the Loreal towelettes but perhaps someone else has had better luck with these?

New Year...

Unfortunately I am unable to upload my pictures from New Years Eve because I don't have the cable for my camera with me. (I am away for a bit) But I ended up getting the Lovers + Friends Rose Gold Sequin Sway Dress for Christmas and I wore it for NYE and it was a huge hit! I received so many compliments on this dress!

Here are a few photos of the dress from various websites:

Once I have photos uploaded, I will post them!

Lately I have been craving French Fries which isn't necessarily great for my fitness routine. But I am dying to make some handcut french fries dusted with a little bit of Wasabi powder and sea salt and black sesame seeds. I think that would be yummy! Ill give it a try and post it soon.

EDIT: New Years Eve Pics!
My Dress was a bit big but I had no time to have it taken in. But I received a lot of compliments nonetheless!

I had to put this funny and quite unflattering picture of me up here! I was in the middle of yelling at my friend who was taking the picture! It looks as though I lost my dentures or something! (FYI no I do not wear dentures! lol)
