A Porker Who Loves Pork.

I am currently on a diet. Not a strict one, but I am trying to be careful with what I am consuming. But one thing I love is Bacon and pork. Therefore I could not be Muslim because pork and I have a very close relationship. I mean the smell of bacon alone makes me happy. I sound like a porker lol Pun Intended. So while I am trying to avoid temptation I have come across so many yummy bacon enhanced foods! Here are two that are made with bacon that just look soo bad for me but soo good for me at the same time hahah

This looks sooo delicious! Made with Fuji Apples and Bacon! Find the recipe here!

And here are Maple Bacon Donuts!! Ugh this is such a bad idea. Why do I torment myself by looking at things I cannot and should not be eating!? Nonetheless these do look yummy:

Check these out and the recipe for these scrumptious treats at Cherry Tea Cakes Blog.

Ombre Hair...

In the past I had dyed my hair black and had pink in the front. Which I liked but after awhile I covered the pink up and my hair was all black. Unfortunately I did not realize that black would be such a pain in the ass to change later. My natural hair color is a warm brown with natural red and blonde highlights. Its actually quite strange. But nonetheless I am left wanting to change my hair color but stylists have told me that lightening my hair will pose a bit of an issue unless I strip the black from my hair first. I just didn't want to because the damage done would further dry out my hair.

So I decided to let it grow out and now I realized how much lighter my natural hair color was in reality. In comparison with the black it was extremely light. Fortunately the ends have faded to a dark dark brown. I wanted to do a few highlights in my hair but have recently decided that I may just want to do the Ombre look to my hair instead.

So as you can see I already have an Ombre look going but its an Opposite Ombre! lol But I am highly considering lightening it and achieving a look these:
So Yay or Nay?

Military Loving.

I love military influenced fashion. I am a huge lover of the color palettes used in military inspired clothing. The khakis, olive greens, and tans. All neutrals which can be worn by redheads, blondes, and brunettes.

I for one have been wearing my Steve Madden "Troopa" boots a lot lately. Not so much that they should be as worn as they are. I bought them in the off white color. I loved that they weren't the typical black or brown boot. My only issue was that the sole of the shoes literally is destroyed! My right boot has a hole/crack in the bottom of the shoe. Which devastated me! I don't want to have to buy another pair but I think I am left without any other option!

These are shots of one of my vintage uniform shirts that I purchased. I love the patches and they just look so cute with my military boots. I have 3 of them as well as a military coat.

I thought this last picture was cool because it looks like Cousin IT with the sunglasses on top of my head. LoL

Denim Denim Denim

So lately I have talked to a few girls who have had unique nail designs. I asked how they got their nails to look that way and they told me I had to check out Sally Hansen Salon Effects. So I went on a hunt for them. A few pharmacy's were sold out but I finally got lucky at Rite Aid!

They had all different patterns to choose from but most were sold out. So I settled on Denim and Fishnet. The Denim I tried on last night and they are so cool! The application process is actually quite simple and not messy at all. I have to say I was quite happy with the results!

The only down side is the price. They were $10 each which is more than some bottles of nail polish! But Oh well I received a $5 off coupon for my next Sally Hansen purchase which will motivate me to buy another set.

Here are the pictures:

Makeup Homework...

I recently met blogger Alicia from Funny Face beauty a little over a week ago. I had never read her blog prior to meeting her but once I became aware of her blog I was quite impressed with her charitable efforts as well as her reviews.

She currently has a makeup challenge going on in an effort to raise money for Japan. The "Dare to Wear Challenge" consists of creating a look inspired by Japanese culture. I for one am not one to wear a lot of makeup but I thought "Hey this is for a great cause and playing with makeup is fun!"

Mind you I now have found a great appreciation for makeup bloggers and their ability to create amazing looks as well as being able to capture those looks on film. Because let me tell you! I have TONS of eye makeup on and yet in these photos you can't see it!! Its insane! It disappeared on film, I swear! lol.

Well anywho the look was to be inspired by Harajuku girls or Japanese culture and style. I decided to go for the babydoll Gyaru look but let me say that it looks so much more vivid in person! But it was fun nonetheless!

I also paired it with the bow hairstyle from the video in the entries below.

Me: Trying to secure this bow hair style. A bit difficult because my hair is soo long.
^ *Sorry for my mess in the background!*^

Its just really funny overall how the makeup was lost on camera! But oh well. Fun nonetheless and if I have time I will try to do another one that I can actually capture with my camera.

Save

I am currently trying to save money. I am an impulse shopper/spender. I have a hard time saving money! And now I am trying to rationalize and be responsible but I really REALLY want these damn Jeffrey Campbells!!
I really don't know why I must torture myself like this! I have been resisting going into stores even though I work in SoHo but yet I make up for it when I get home by browsing websites looking at clothes and shoes!? I think I may need an intervention!

I can honestly say that lately it hasn't been too bad because I have been working out when I get home from work. So that allows me to be distracted for a bit while also helping me get healthy again. I just am really looking forward to getting my butt in shape so that I can actually enjoy shopping for a bathing suit!

Well on that note I am off to bed because it is very late.

My day in a nutshell...

Well the other day I took advantage of a wet sidewalk square. I got so excited and decided to write my name in the cement. Now every morning and evening on my way to and from work, I get to see my name. Its cool to know that it will be there for some time. (sorry I took the picture upside down, because it was on my way home)

And EVERYDAY consists of me walking to a Starbucks for my caffeine fix. I should be dubbed a *Caffiend* I always have to get my Venti Iced Nonfat Caramel Macchiatto or the day is not complete! A coffee and a great book is my idea of a good day.

And then after all of this I finally relax with a mud mask from Lush. I recently bought this Cupcake mask that smells so yummy! Do not eat it though! lol My mom thought it was batter and was about to dip her spoon into it when I had to tell her "Bad Idea!"
Please don't be too frightened! It is not Swamp Thing! Just me in my mask! And No I am Not naked! I have a towel on lol.

I am such a dork! LoL I can't help it sometimes!

Now its time to grab some sushi for dinner!

Hermione Chic

Emma Watson of the Harry Potter movies is no longer the little girl we all watched grow on the big screen. She is a woman with her own sense of style. I love the following photo shoot pictures of her with her short hair.
^^Look at those shoes!!^^

Drool worthy Denim Shirt

Working in SoHo has its upsides. I get to people watch and be in the center of a lot of amazing shops and boutiques. The downside is that I am constantly drooling over something.

I have been wanting a denim shirt for some time now. But I am quite particular about the wash and style. I want a faded wash denim shirt as well as a distressed denim shirt. I am not fond of the dark blue wash for denim shirts. Jeans, yes. Shirt, no.

I have come across three that I really like. One being a shirt I saw on sale at GAP and another being a shirt I saw at the Levi's store. But my ultimate fave shirt is this edgy denim shirt I spotted in the Lucky Brand store.
It has studs all over the shoulders and upper back of the shirt.
It has a hefty price tag of $118.
Fortunately I have a friend who works there who can give me a discount. Thank Goodness!
Otherwise I would see a DIY project in my future!

I think the best outfit I have spotted with a denim shirt is the one worn by Rihanna. She was spotted wearing a Dolce & Gabbana denim shirt with a bandage skirt. Loving her style and Loving this outfit!

Here it is paired with her Dolce and Gabbana blue leopard denim clutch. I adore this outfit! I am on a hunt for a bandage skirt like this.

Sweet Tooth

Lately I have been craving sugar like Crazy!! Which is unusual for me because I usually don''t crave sweets. I really hope that this isn't going to be an ongoing thing! Because it would really be detrimental to my weight loss journey lol.

Anyways I follow a few blogs that are packed with recipes. One of those blogs is Sprinkle Bakes. I love the amazing photos and all of the different recipes that are available. Recently I was just out with friends from back home and we went to Baked by Melissa and got some small bite size cupcakes. They are okay but I think they are more of a novelty than anything else.

Me Nom Noming on mini cupcakes in SoHo on Spring Street. These lil puppies are $1 each! Insane that they aren't even a full bite! But oh well, still fun!

So I was browsing Sprinkle Bakes and really want to try making these Battenburg Cakes! Aren't they absolutely adorable!?
Please check out her site and try out one of her many amazing recipes! The possibilities are endless! I really want to try this with different colors!

Platform Lust

As I walk the streets of NYC I see many different people with all different style identities but no matter what style they have, it seems everyone is wearing platforms! They are everywhere and I am constantly drooling over them! Here are a few that I can't stop admiring. The front runner is definitely the Jeffrey Campbell Lita Boots.
They come in a large variety of colors and they are just so kick-ass.
I think almost every fashion blogger I come across has a pair of these bad boys. And Why shouldn't they?!
You can snag a pair of these on ebay for cheaper. I have seen many on there in different colors. Otherwise you can get them at ShopNastyGal.com as well as other sites.

These Senso Neve Wedge boots are so bad ass. I am loving the fold and straps. I envision these with some rocker leather jacket. Drool...

Jeffrey Campbell is a shoe genius! Check out these platform cut out shoes and please tell me you don't love them:
And don't get me started on these neutral taupe colored wedges with tear drop shaped cut outs! They are only $100 and I adore them and think I may just have to buy them on my pay day.
Also check out these beauties. Wood & Leather that makes a statement...
These Messeca sliced platforms are so freaking amazing. The wood detail is what makes these appealing.
