Magnetic Nail Polish

Magnetic Nail Polish for a girl with a Magnetic personality!

Haha...Went to Sephora in SoHo last night, and a friend who works there shows me this, what appears to be ordinary, bottle of nail polish. But then she tells me that it is magnetic and it creates a crazy design by using the magnet attached to the top of the bottle. Now she had me curious. So she took out a tester and showed me the way to use it and before you know it there was a crowd of girls including myself with our mouths open saying I'll take it!! Its a bit pricey! $16 a bottle but she gave me 20% off so that was really nice and I purchased it in the purple and black color. Check out the video

Feather Friday

So I have been MIA working on my food truck that I am building and putting together. It has been so hectic and hard to do much else. But a girl can never truly stop shopping and browsing gorgeous goods! I live in NY so fashion is everywhere!

With fall on its way I am getting excited for boots, sweaters, scarves, and big leather bags and rich colors! Ahh it makes me so happy just thinking about the crisp autumn air and the changing of leaves. I miss New England  during Fall. Well as many of you have seen, feathers have been a popular trend. Whether they be on earrings, or necklaces, they are everywhere! People are even getting rooster feather hair extensions, which I have to admit I do want one! lol But what about feather on your clothes?

I recently was gifted a ostrich feather vest from Bebe. I can honestly say at first glance I was unsure, but then I thought "This could work...." But then I saw the ultimate feather find! This gorgeous Rooster feather skirt in a rich purple/indigo hue. I ABSOLUTELY adore this skirt and want it! And the fact that it is 65% off makes it more fathomable to purchase.

Yea its $308 dollars but in comparison to its original hefty price tag of $880!?!? Cmon people! I want this to pair with an edgy leather jacket for a night out in Manhattan! With a great pair of pumps and a clutch that has some color. Ahhh Love Love Love!!!

Then I browsed some more and found this black Ostrich feather skirt by the familiar Juicy Couture.

But If I had to choose I think the Rooster has a much nicer texture and the color is what really drew me in. But nonetheless I do love this skirt. But I continued my search and found an identical skirt to this one for $100 cheaper!

$178 for this Aqua Luxe Feather Skirt at Bloomingdales seems like a better option! Right?!

So would you rock a feather skirt?

Sunday Funday...

I love reading blogs and browsing the topics and photos other bloggers post. It sometimes inspires me to cook, craft, or shop lol. Here are a few things that are either fun or interesting that I have come across recently:

Check out these delicious No Bake cookies at Lick The Bowl Good blog. They have a ton of other delicious recipes!

Check out this creative way to make floral stamps. Sometimes I wonder who thinks up these things!
Celery made into a stamp!? I found this cool idea here.

Lately I have been on a hunt for healthy recipes and here is one I found for a yogurt peanut butter dip:
Get the recipe here and give it a try, because I know I will be.
Then I came across this photo that makes me want to grab an old long sleeve tee and attempt to do this woven project.
Also here is another DIY inspirational photo:

^Love these mason jars splattered with Glow in the Dark paint. These remind me of the Justin Nozuka "After Tonight" music video with the fireflies.

More DIY to try:

And here is another photo that I found that I think is soo innovative and creative; using wine boxes/crates for flooring?!?! Love this !
That is all for little things I have come across today! Tomorrow I will be sure to put more things up and some stuff I have been working on!

Time is a tickin'

I have never been a person who is fond of watches up until recently. Last year my dad bought me a Guess white metal watch that I adore. It was between the Guess and a Lacoste watch but the Guess had a pearl face which I preferred. Unfortunately it has endured a bit of a beating and received a few scratches. I am now looking for a ceramic white watch because they are much more resilient to scuffs and damage.

Recently I fell in love with a rose gold watch by Michael Kors:
The price tag on this watch is $295
Yet I am really torn between the watch above and this one that has a bit of a bulkier feel aside from the gems, but I really like it.
The Price is the same for this watch.
This 3rd watch is a gold tone chain/cuff like watch that I think goes well with the trend of chains and studs that are soo prevalent in today's fashion. I think it can either be made to look sophisticated depending on the outfit worn, or even edgy if you are wearing clothes with gold studs and embellishments. Love it
This watch costs $225The final Michael Kors watch I am in love with is an acrylic horn watch that is a neutral color that can accompany any palette. I love the look of this watch but I am deterred by the fact that it is in fact acrylic.
The price is a bit much for the watch as well. I am not up for paying $250 for an acrylic watch.

Then I am IN LOVE with La Mer watches which I have posted in the past. Not only because they are different and unique and are full of options but because they also are trendy and similar to the very popular wrap bracelets that are being worn by everyone. Check two of my faves under the links. I was unable to add pictures to my page. But one is a neutral color with chain and the other is a PERFECT Nautical inspired watch. ADORE these!!

Finally is this completely Unique watch that is made out of wood. Yes I said, WOOD! Amazing and buy a watch and they will plant a tree! How awesome is that?!?! Pretty F'ing awesome if you ask me lol! Check it out:
It costs $119 and they come in different colors. Check out this site!

Well that is all for time keeping. Let me know if you have any watches that are worth a mention!

Shoe Porn

I just bought a pair of Jeffrey Campbell wedges last night and I can't wait for them to get here! Love them!! So I continued looking for some Jeffrey Campbell's  I would like to splurge on and I came across a bunch of great shoes and some that are just too crazy to not post/share with you!

Check out these shoes by United Nude:
Love the unique look of these sandals! I wonder how comfortable they would be?

Check out this other pair of sandals by the same brand:
How visually interesting are these?! I don't personally think I would wear this pair but they are still intricate and unique nonetheless.

As we all know, the color Coral is completely hot this season! I adore the color and it looks great when you have a great summer tan. These wedges are adorable and bold. I love them!

The brand is Messeca and they come in a lot of different colors!

In a past entry I had posted the Sam Edelman Lorissa spiked peep toe pumps and I recently came across a pair that is closed toe which I prefer! The style is called "Yuma"

Mary Janes gone "Crazy"? This style by Jeffrey Campbell is called "So Crazy" Love these !! Soo cute!
And last but not least, I had posted a while ago how every fashion blogger seems to own a pair of Jeffrey Campbell "Lita" shoes but being in New York I see them a lot and I see a lot of girls struggling to walk in them. They seem a bit uncomfortable and definitely not within my comfort zone. But I do like this pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes called "Solvang":
They seem a bit more wearable and practical and I love the rivets and the wood and I particularly like the cuff.
They are on sale for $94.00 whereas they were originally $169.95! They come in black on black and black with the wood platform.

Beach Waves

So Summer is Here and what is better than no hassle beach hair? Nothing! Because I for one hate having to worry about straightening or curling my hair all the time in the summer. I love to have just an easy carefree look and it is one of the reasons that I really love summer because I feel like the tousled look is completely appropriate and acceptable for a daytime look or even a night out. I used to always use John Freida's Beach Blonde Waves. The product was unfortunately discontinued, which has left me clueless and stunned. You can still find a bottle from time to time on Ebay. I had bought a box of 5 when they first were discontinued and it ran me like $65 dollars when they were originally like $6 in drugstores. NOW on Ebay they are selling half a bottle for $$35 !!! Are you kidding me!?!? Then another one is full for $65!!! John Frieda needs to make this product again! I used to love it! The smell and it worked wonders without having to even use the hair dryer!

I have tried other products that claim to achieve the same look but they have all fallen short of the John Frieda product. I have tried Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and it was quite pricey for the amount. It wasn't bad but not great.. I felt as though it made my hair feel dry.  It was about $20 something dollars too!

I also tried a few other products I don't feel like even listing because they too weren't great. I did however use John Frieda's Starlit Waves for Brunettes which was good but not as good as the Beach Blonde Spray. But it too was discontinued!?!?! WTF?! lol Can't win!

But one product I am dying to try is the Frederic Fekkai Marine Wave products:
Any input on this product? I really want to have an idea if its worth the $24.
Otherwise I may try this one that I have seen at Ulta stores:

I definitely need to find a product that works. I also want to get the ombre look done to my hair as well. Ahhh too bad I need to save money lol.

Wish List

So Lately I have been looking at swimwear. I am currently still on a long journey to my goal weight. I have lost some weight but I have not been strict enough with my diet and as of lately I have been slacking in the exercise department. But I am going to work out as soon as I finish this entry. Here are a few bathing suits I have my eye on for the end of summer. Because I think by August I will be somewhat comfortable with myself.

I adore this bikini top! I really want it. I am not too fond of the bottom however. I think I may opt for just a white bottom. The Top is only $18! And I want to buy this matching necklace made by Dogeared.

I really like this black bathing suit because of the ruched top and the fact that the bottom has full coverage in the back. Or at least that is what the description says lol.

Check out ^ This Unbelievably Gorgeous Bathing suit! I Love it, I just don't love the price tag! Haha
I also want this Haute and Naughty Lash mascara by MAC!! Anyone tried it yet?

Random:

Those who watch True Blood, I am loving Evan Rachel Wood's new look!
I love her new hair! It is a big change from her long locks but she pulls it off so well and I love the menswear look that female celebrities are wearing! What do you think? Yay or Nay?

Any recommendations for websites for swimwear too? I have checked Victoria's Secret but any other places?

Nail Art

Recently a friend of mine uploaded a pic of her nails and I was in love! She is the one who first introduced me to Sally Hansen Nail Effects. I asked her how she did her nails and she forwarded me to this great tutorial!
Check out how she transferred newspaper print to her nails here.

Donut Demise

Today was a pretty easy day. Did a few errands for a film fest we are catering later this week. But on our way to the sign maker we stopped at the Doughnut Plant for these delectable donuts! I first heard about the Doughnut Plant on a food show and wanted to try it! But never got around to it. One day I was in Dean and Deluca and saw a donut called Tres Leches. I bought it and then later realized it was made by the Doughnut Plant and I then was aware of all the hype! They are delicious! It is literally a bit of heaven in EVERY bite.

So today I went to Dean and Deluca and they were sold out so my Dad and I decided we should check out the actual location where this delectable donuts are being sold. So off to Grand Street we went!
The Line Was a Bit Long
 Check out these specials! Yummy!
Dad waiting inside patiently for his favorite donut!
There it is! His Coconut Square Donut which is also filled with a coconut cream filling!

Dad very happily posing with the donut he demolished in -2 seconds
And this ^ my friends is MY Favorite! The Tres Leches donut! Not too sweet and almost has a subtle note of saltiness that offsets the sweet glaze. This donut is cake-like but not too dense which I love! Its so soft and smooth and the best part is that it is filled with cream inside! You wouldn't expect that from a donut with a hole but its got filling! SOOO Good.
^This donut didn't stand a chance! I was going in for the kill!
Here is Me with a mouthful of yummy goodness. Please don't mind the fact that I look like a porker but I just couldn't contain myself. Not to mention I am currently on a diet and I definitely didn't just cheat on my diet, I had an all out passionate affair with this Tres Leches Donut. It was a moment of bliss and pleasure. Brief moment but a great moment nonetheless. Hmm reminds me of an ex. The brief part, not the pleasure Haha
Me still chewing and realizing that this donut would be my demise.
Take note that after these incredibly unflattering and incriminating photos were taken, I went home and worked my ass off because this wasn't the only donut I had. I had a half of a creme brulee donut which was amazing as well. A bit sweet but had the crunchy creme brulee top filled with a deliciously smooth creamy filling. Ahhh enough about sugary foods. I'm off to go do more crunches haha.

Creative Lighting

I was browsing Etsy and came across this Etsy store called "Yellow Square Love". They have the most amazing and innovative lights ever. I am an immediate fan! I for one love when people repurpose furniture or other things. I am hugely inspired by things that are not only creative but make for awesome conversation pieces. The lights in this store definitely make a statement.

Here are a few of my favorites:
Look at it here

This radio is too cool
I am loving this rustic tackle box.

This record player is my ultimate fave! I adore it!

What are a few of your favorite Etsy Shops?

Naked? Yes indeed.

Ahh it has been awhile...Sorry! I have been busy working and I haven't been able to blog as much as I'd like to.

But on a lighter note, the other week my dad was on his way to Sephora to buy cologne and he said "The other day you said you went there for something that was sold out, what was it?" I told him "Its a makeup palette" My dad then responds in his latin accent "What is it called?" and my response was "Naked" then my dad boasts "What?! Make it??".... "NO dad NAKED!!!" ..."NAKED??!!?!" ..."Yes Dad it is called NAKED!!"

Mind you this whole conversation is happening in front of tons of people who are probably thinking WTF!?

He ends up bringing me a bag with my lovely Naked Palette! One of the girls from Sephora told me how he was in there looking for it and how cute it was haha. I laughed because all I can picture is this big guy coming into the store saying to one of the employees "Yo Sweetheart I am looking for something Naked." haha I love my dad!

I am a huge fan of neutrals so I adore this palette but I wish there were a few more matte options. Because sometimes I like something less shimmery during the day. But still love it!

Avocado Bliss

I LOVE Avocados and cannot get enough of them. They are great on sandwiches and burgers and I love them on grilled shrimp tacos! With Cinco de Mayo being tomorrow I felt like I should make some yummy Guacamole while it was my day off. Tomorrow I would most likely be too tired to make it.

Anyways I used to go to this Mexican restaurant that would make the Guacamole for you right at the table!

What you need:

2 Hass Avocados (Ripe of course)
1 Red Onion (About 2 TBSP of minced red onion)
1 Plum Tomato (Not too soft)
1 Small clove of garlic
Small lime ( I only used half of it)
Sea salt or Kosher salt if you have it. Otherwise regular salt is fine.
Cayenne pepper
Cumin
Fresh Cilantro

Cut your tomato, red onion, avocado in tiny little cubes. I call this micro dicing lol. Throw it all into a bowl.

Then roll your lime on a counter before cutting it to get it easy to squeeze. I used half of a small lime

Then I cut some fresh cilantro and threw it into the mix. I am aware that Cilantro is a Love or Hate thing. You either love Cilantro or you can NOT stand it. I LOVE IT. The more the merrier lol
Then I mixed everything together and seasoned it with sea salt and a small pinch of Cayenne Pepper for heat and Cumin for smokiness. It really works well with the lime. But if you don't have Cumin or dislike the taste, Paprika is a great option!

Mix it all up and adjust to taste and pair it with your favorite chips! I had it with Multigrain chips because they are bit better for me! Yummy!
If Only you could see how green it really was though. The lighting was terrible! But it was delicious!!
